One New Thing Every Day

From the day I turned 29, I tried to do one new thing a day... it took a few extra months, but I did it! Now I'll post new things randomly as I try them.

#215 - A New Alphabet Game

We had a rare mid-week date night tonight, with TLG staying home with Grandma and Grandpa, but we were having trouble choosing a place to go to dinner. So we invented a new alphabet game: open the phone book to the restaurant section, pick a letter of the alphabet and try to choose from that list. My hubby first chose the letter Q for quick, but there were only a handful of choices including Qdoba and Quiznos. Then he chose E for eat, but we didn't like any of those either (many of them were Mexican places that started with the word El, like El Adobe or El Borracho, and we weren't really in the mood). So then he chose H for hungry, and we ended up going to the steakhouse at Hobey's Casino. We went there last year for an official date night, and it was delicious then, so we gave it another try. They did not disappoint! I had one of the specials, which came with a small rib eye steak and three coconut shrimp, and my hubby tried the surf-and-turf with a lobster tail. We enjoyed every bite, and the alphabet game was a hit.
