Today we bought furniture at a new store we've never been to: Ashley Furniture. If you're a regular reader of this blog, you know we have been working on the transition to a big-boy bed for a few weeks now... today we bit the bullet and went shopping. Ashley Furniture was recommended to me by a former co-worker, who bought a couch there at a reasonable price. It was the second store we went to, and the saleswoman who helped us was very helpful. She gave us a great deal on a discontinued set of furniture - so we ended up bringing home a ton of new furniture, enough for the whole room! So the little guy has a new bed, mattress, nightstand, dresser, and mirror, all in a light wood color. (Now we just have to get it upstairs and put it all together. And find space for all the old furniture! And sort of all the stuff that's in the old furniture to put into the new drawers! What were we thinking?!?) I digress. The folks at Ashley usually make people order their new furniture and pick it up later, but because we were buying the floor models, they took it partially apart and helped us load it in the trailer we brought in case we found the right bed today (fresh from the recycling place). TLG's favorite part of the trip were the car-shaped "stroller" that he got to ride in - ours was red. He gave it two kisses before we left the store.
